项目摘要

本研究は、東洋思想的観点から「集合的記憶」についての社会学的分析を見直そうとするものである。本研究でいう「東洋思想的観点」とは、西田幾多郎が哲学的に検討した日本の仏教思想をベースに、人間が社会や自然などの環境と係わり合いながら場(境界帯)を生成し、相互作用により世界をともに創出している状況を見る視点である。申請者はこれまでアルヴァックスの集合的記憶理論を、第二次世界大戦中に日系アメリカ人が強制収容された跡地への巡礼の旅の記憶が生成される現場を詳細に観察することにより「再考」してきた。今回新たに展開させようとしている研究では、これまでの研究の蓄積を、思想的観点から「再々考」するものである。具体的には、収容経験を元に執筆された文芸作品のなかで「西欧的自我」と「経験」がいかにして主題として立ち現れてくるか、その言説の変化を1次資料、2次資料を使いながら再解釈していく。2022年度には、当初計画通り、研究に必要な１）１次資料「鉄柵」「南加文芸」などの帰米２世の知識人、文芸同人が執筆した文芸作品集、２）２次資料東洋思想研究のために三枝博音全集等、を購入。また。研究基盤を固めるためにパソコンを揃えた。ブラジルから国際交流基金の招聘で渡日したVeridiana Cordeiro氏との共同研究で、東洋思想を日系ブラジル人女性３世代の語りの分析に応用し、論文「“It tastes like home to me”:Cooking and remembering among Nipo-Brazilian women」を共同執筆した。この論文は、第１７回アメリカ社会学会大会（ロサンゼルス）のラウンドテーブルで報告した。
