项目摘要

本研究は、結核・ハンセン病・精神病の患者を中心に隔離する空間として戦後に再編された国立療養所と映画の関係を考察するものである。2022年度は、映画におけるそれぞれの病の表象について、調査を進めた。まず、日本映画で初めて精神病患者を描いた『狂った一頁』（1926年）について、先行研究と資料の調査を進め、その成果を日本近現代文学会東北支部にて口頭発表した。前衛映画や実験映画、あるいはシナリオを執筆した川端康成に関心が集まる『狂った一頁』を、精神病という観点から捉え直すことで、映画のスタイルや意義を再検討した。第二に、療養所のハンセン病患者が製作に関与している映画『あつい壁』（1970）について、ハンセン病療養所・菊池恵楓園の自治会で収集した資料に基づいた論文の執筆を進めている。製作費の収集、シナリオの検討、出演における葛藤など、ハンセン病患者の関与と、完成した映画の果たしてきた役割を歴史的に検討するものである。第三に、結核については結核文学の先行研究を調査する一方、結核映画の視聴を進めた。結核文学研究の一部として言及されるにとどまっている映画の研究を新たに切り開いていく予定である。また、Jホラー作品『叫』（2006年）を例に、「戦後」という時代における生政治の空間として、病院と団地の比較検討も行った。今後は、結核・精神病・ハンセン病それぞれの病の映画における表象を整理したうえで、国立療養所と映画の接点を注視していきたい。
