日本の人口・家族政策論に関する政策文書（政策論議）を主な分析対象として、文献資料の収集と検討を行った。それと並行して、女性の経済的自立と母性保護を求める動き（学説・運動）が政策論議に影響力を持つか否かが政府の人口認識を背景とする人口問題（具体的には、出生の動向）に左右されてきたことについての考察（先行研究との対話）を進めている。いずれについても、性と生殖に関わる議論がほぼ全員男性の構成員によって議論されていたことの限界に注目して取り組んでいる。時期的には戦前から戦後への展開と１．５７ショックの前後の動向を重視して作業を進めてきたが、通史的な考察を視野に入れている。研究成果としては、美濃口時次郎に関する解説等を執筆した。
