本研究課題は現代の着物文化を若者ファッションの観点からとらえ、分析することを目的としている。2022年度では（1）戦後の着物文化の再興を1950年代の復古調ブームへの着目（研究代表者）、（2）現在北九州を中心に展開している特徴的な成人式の装いの調査（研究分担者）を行い、特徴的な花魁風の着こなしについて分析した。何れも国際服飾学術会議（主催：国際服飾学会、2022年8月開催）にてポスター発表を行った。（1）1940年代末には日本文化への回帰を意味する「復古調ブーム」がおこった。これは服飾の流行というよりも思想的な側面が強かったが、結果として服装にも影響を及ぼした。その中で、正月と婚礼の事象について検討した。①正月：1948年に制定された祝日法にて正月は国民の祝日と位置付けられ、日本を意識する日として国民に再認識されている。着物だけでなく日本髪が日本のかつての姿の象徴として認識されるに至った。②婚礼：1950年には皇族の結婚も契機となり、結婚ブームがおこった。婚礼衣裳には昔ながらの振袖高島田が好まれた。さらに、旧来は武家階級の衣裳であった打掛は、1950年代には「復古調」のイメージと共に、一般的な婚礼衣裳となった。非日常着となった戦後の和装だからこそ、身分や経済性とは関係のない衣裳選択が行われるようになった。（2）花魁風着付け：花魁スタイルは、帯の前結びに加え、3つの要素の組み合わせによって分類できる。北九州市の新成人にインタビューした結果、花魁スタイル自体については興味を持ち、好意的である。しかし、花魁風の着物を着て成人式に出席する新成人は少ない。 また、成人式の写真を掲載したパンフレットには、前撮りでの花魁の着物姿は一定数あったものの、会場前でのスナップ写真では2016年以降減少傾向にある。 特に肩を露出する参加者は減少傾向にあり、志向の変化が読み取れた。
