本課題では、新型コロナウイルス感染症の世界的蔓延を契機とした本邦における地域在住の高齢者（地域高齢者）の生活障害に焦点を当てている。地域高齢者は活動自粛によって心身機能のみならず、生活維持の基盤となる掃除や洗濯、買い物のような生活関連活動に支障が生じることが明らかにされつつある。本課題では、withコロナ・ポストコロナ社会における地域高齢者の生活関連活動の実態把握と支援策を検討することに主眼を置いている。当該年度は、研究分担者とともに、地域高齢者の生活関連活動に関する先行研究の知見を整理し、通いの場等を利用する地域高齢者の生活関連活動の実態について予備的に調査した。アンケートを用いた調査の結果、地域高齢者の社会的活動には、世帯構成や外出頻度の多さ、安全な公園や散歩道など近隣環境が関連していることが明らかとなった。この結果を踏まえ、アンケート回答者の一部の対象者に対して、既存の測定尺度では表現しえない生活の中の困りごとを把握するために、半構造化面接による質的調査を実施した。その結果、単身世帯の者では体力維持活動への意識は高いものの、特に公共交通機関系ICカードの使用やQRコード決済などで困ることが多いことが抽出された。一方、同居者がいる者では、同居者への依存度が高くなり、生活全般で物事に取り組む意欲がわきにくいことが抽出され、現状の地域高齢者の生活関連活動における困りごとは精神面も含め多岐にわたる可能性が示唆された。
