自閉スペクトラム症（以下ASD）児の発達は定型発達児と異なることが知られている。発達順序が定型発達と異なるケースも報告されているが、それに見合った学習体系が確立していないため、適切な教授が困難になっている。ASD児は個に寄り、様々な面で異なることが知られているが、その１つ１つの個別の事例を集積することによりASD児の言語の発達を分類することが可能であると考える。そして、個別のタイプに応じた適切な療育方法を作成することが我々の最終的な目的である。これらの目的の第1段階としてASD児の言語発達過程の定量調査を行い、逆転しているパターンを分析する。これらの調査からASD児の言語発達過程を明らかにする。次に、第2段階では個別にインタビュー調査を実施し質的に研究を行う。定量調査では、ASD診断のある5～18歳の子どもをもつ保護者を対象者としてアンケート調査を実施し、言語発達の順序における逆転の有無を尋ねる。定量調査では、より多くの参加者を募るためインタビュー調査で行う。質的調査では、ASD診断のある5～18歳の子どもをもつ保護者を対象者とする。インタビューでは、我が子の言語発達の在り様と保護者の関わりについて質問を行う。定量調査と質的調査のトライアンギュレーションを通して得られた結果を分析する。この分析から言語発達のある一定のタイプを明らかにする。さらに、それらのタイプに応じ、言語発達についての適切な早期療育支援プログラム作成を構築する。
