父親の主体的な育児関与をどのように動機づけるかは，社会的に重要な課題となっている。一方で，父親に対する子育て支援に関する研究の蓄積は世界的にも少ない。具体的な父親への子育て支援として自治体等による父親教室が挙げられるが，その効果に関する検討は行われていない。本研究は，父親教室に焦点を当て，第一子出生前の父親教室への参加が第一子出生後の父親の育児動機づけにどのように影響するのかを明らかすることを目的としている。本研究の目的を達成するために，研究期間内に次のような調査を実施する計画である。まず，Web調査によって第一子出生前の父親教室の受講の有無を特定し，受講経験のない父親に対してランダムに父親教室のオンデマンド教材を視聴してもらう。その後，第一子出生後にもWeb調査を行い，父親教室の受講経験が育児動機づけに影響するのか検討する。これにより父親への子育て支援のあり方を検討するための基礎的な知見を得られることが期待できる。本年度は，各自治体で行われている父親教室の実態や内容について把握し，父親教室の動画を作成する計画であった。各自治体のホームページ等を確認して父親教室の実施状況について情報収集を進めたが，父親教室の動画を作成するまでには至らなかった。そのため，次年度より，収集した情報の整理や分析を進めるとともに，父親教室の動画作成に取り組む必要がある。なお，父親教室の動画を撮影した後の調査実施に関しては，Web調査会社とミーティングを重ね，動画視聴や繰り返しの調査を含めた調査実施計画について具体化を進めており，父親教室の動画作成が完成し次第調査を実施する体制作りを進めた。次年度以降は，まずは父親教室の動画の作成を進めるとともに，研究倫理審査申請書を作成し，研究代表者の所属校の研究倫理審査委員会の承認を得た後に，調査を実施する計画である。
