聴覚障害児の英語教育について、韓国で作成された聴覚障害児用の教科書を、日本の聴覚障害児教育に携わる教員と共有をし、日本においてこのような教科書があった場合、指導に活かせるかなどの意見や疑問点などの聞き取りを行った。研究計画の１に関する予備的な検討および情報の収集を終えることができた。また、研究計画の１に関連して、新型コロナウイルスが落ち着いてきた時期であったため、韓国への出張ができ、韓国で特別支援学校教員養成に携わる大学教員から、英語の指導の概要や現状について情報の収集を行った。また、教科書に示されている韓国内でしかアクセスできないQRコードの動画へのアクセスもでき、口形を示した動画についての動画やアメリカ手話の教育動画についての情報を得ることができた。さらに、日本の聴覚障害児教育に携わる教員から出された意見や質問を共有し、今後の聴覚障害児の英語教育に関する最先端の情報を得ることができた。今後検討課題としては、実際に聴覚障害児の指導に携わる教員に、教科書使用の実際や課題などについて、聞き取りを行うことである。韓国の大学での訪問の受け入れについては許可が下りたが、特別支援学校ではまだ難しい状況であったため、今後は状況を見ながら研究を進めるが、オンラインによる情報収集を考えながら、研究目的を達成できるよう進める予定である。そして、日本の聴覚障害児の英語教育にこれらの知見を活かすことができるよう努める。
