[1] 天文を得意としない多くの教師の力量向上を目指した授業研究大阪大谷大学の小谷卓也教授を中心とする、子どもの「かがく遊び」の研究グループKSRUGに参加し、教師の力量向上のための議論を行った。8月1日には「かがく遊びにおける子どもの思考と創造：遊びの中にある「思考」をどう発見するのか」というテーマでのシンポジウムに参加し、かがく遊びの議論を深めた。また、これまでのかがく遊びの議論をまとめた単行本の出版を計画した。また、同じく大阪大谷大学の小谷卓也教授を中心とする、学校でのSTEAM教育の研究グループKI-STEAMに参加し、特にSTEAM教育の観点から教師の力量向上のための議論を行った。和歌山大学教育学部附属小学校・中学校の理科部と、今後の研究のための議論を行った。[2] 天文を得意としない多くの教師の力量向上に関わる研究の、世界の天文教育への応用国際天文学連合、部会C（天文教育、アウトリーチ・天文遺産）、委員会C1（天文教育と発展）でのプロジェクトの一つ「学校天文の日」を通じて、世界の学校教員、課外活動・野外活動センターの教員と教育実践の交流を行い、それぞれの国の教師の力量向上のための資料充実を図った。学校天文の日のオンライン交流会を、夏至（6月28日開催）、秋分（9月30日開催）、冬至（12月23日開催）、春分（3月26日開催）に行った。日本語および英語の2か国語で字幕を入れ、編集した動画をYouTubeチャンネルで公開した。[2]の研究は[1]の研究に還元させ、また、[1]の成果を[2]で広報するなど、2つの研究を有機的に結合させている。
