项目摘要

4-16才児を対象として、異なる顔向きの顔画像に正面向きの目を合成することで作成されたWollaston錯視画像(Wollaston, 1824)および頭部回転時の自然な眼球回転角を示す顔画像（Normal画像）を用いて視線方向知覚の発達的変化を検討した。視線方向左右弁別課題で得られたPSEの顔向き条件間の差異から各年齢群における視線方向判断に対する顔向きの影響の方向や度合いを割り出し、その発達的変化を検討した。実験の結果、Wollaston画像・Normal画像の両条件で知覚上の視線方向が顔向き方向へ引き付けられる誘引効果が年少児でより顕著であり、年齢とともに効果が減少することが示された。本研究の結果はWollaston錯視画像を用い、7‐15才にかけて、視線方向知覚に対する顔向きの影響が低下すると報告した先行研究と一致する（Mihalache, et al., 2019) 。この先行研究では視覚2.5度と小さな顔画像が用いられたのに対し、本研究ではより大きな顔画像を用いたが、先行研究と一致する発達的変化パターンが確認された。ただし、本研究では10‐16才の年長児群ではWollaston錯視がほぼ消失する結果となった。成人を対象とした研究から、視野周辺部への刺激提示を行う条件など、確実な目領域情報の取得が困難な事態では顔向き情報へ依存度が高くなることが示されている（Florey et al., 2015)。目領域は顔内部の比較的細部の情報であることから、目領域情報への感度の年齢間での差異が本研究で観察された発達的変化に関連すると考えられる。また、比較的大きな顔画像の利用により目領域情報の確実性の高い情報取得が可能だったことが年長児での錯視の消失につながった可能性が考えられる。
