2022年度は、府県連合共進会の出展品について１次史料を収集・分析し、特に木材の出展の年代・地域傾向および関連団体による展示施設の意匠を検討した。(1) 府県連合共進会は1881年の一府四県連合共進会を初例に計45回開催され、その出展品は一般の「審査品」と、農商務省等からの貸与や府県の特産品見本など審査対象外の「参考品」に大別される。各回の審査品目を『府県連合共進会審査復命書』『事務報告』から調査した結果、早期には輸出奨励と輸入防遏のため繭・生糸・織物・茶・紙などを主としたが、木・竹製の家具が第10回関東府県(1901)、煉瓦・瓦・セメント・漆喰が第13回関東府県 (1910)・第10回関西府県(1910) から加わったこと、木材は第12回関東府県 (1908)を初例に、第14回九州沖縄(1921)まで８回で審査が実施されたことが判明した。。(2)木材の上記８回における府県別の出展数は、いずれも会場となった主催県は多いが、秋田県・宮崎県・長野県はこれを上回る。樹種の記載があるのは６回で、秋田県は出展２回共に杉に特化する一方、福島県は11種、長野県は20種と多く、また九州・沖縄は主要建築用材の杉・松・欅以外に、椨・椎・ヘゴなど温暖域の地場材を積極的に出展した。(3)林業分野の参考品の出展団体として、大林区署・帝室林野管理局・三井物産株式会社が専用館を設けた点が注目できる。『事務報告』や写真帖等によると、大林区署は1908年から５回出展、製材工場や森林鉄道の整備時期と一致する。うち２回で専用館を設け、八角形平面で秋田大林区署の木材を用いた。帝室林野管理局も開局直後の1910年から２回出展、数寄屋造や各面に木曽の六木を使い分けるなど、御料林の多種材を用いてアピールした。
