動物実験の実施については、まず放射線潰瘍モデルに使用する系統の選定実験として、8週齢の、野生マウス（BALB/cCrSlc、C57BL/6JJmsSlc)、ヌードマウス(BALB/cSlc-nu/nu)、それぞれに放射線を照射し、適切なマウスを選定する。（選定できるまで4匹～20匹程度使用する）。選定方法は放射線照射後の健康状態および生存期間、潰瘍作成部の状態、照射の容易さ、等によって判断する。C57BL/6は一般的に使われている系統で、BALB/cは血液学・免疫学実験で頻繁に使われている系統、BALB/c-nu/nuは移植実験によく使われている系統であるため、これらを用いる。放射線照射実験は下記のプロトコールで行う。3種混合麻酔薬（麻酔法欄参照）を用いて後、厚さ2㎜の鉛板をマウス周囲に設置し他部位への影響を遮蔽、一側下肢を露出させ10Gy～20Gyの放射線照射を行う。X線照射室へ鎮静後にケージで移動する。2022年度は上記実験計画に必要な物品や消耗品の購入および準備を行った。
