ラフ集合の概念は、同値関係と、下・上近似を基礎概念としている。この概念を代数系Gにおいて議論するために、G上の合同関係を導入した。Gが群である場合は、合同関係とGの正規部分郡とが同一視できることを示した。このことで、群の場合における集合の扱いが議論しやすくなった。また、Gが半群の場合において、G上の巾等合同問題に関する上近似についての初等的な性質を得た。また半群上のGreenの関係とイデアルの上近似についての自然な性質を得た。また、ファジィ合同関係に関する下近似・上近似についてのいくつかの性質も得た。ラフ集合の概念は、生成系、closureという概念と関わりがあると予想し、これらの概念を一般化して、successor関数の概念を導し、近似空間におけるこの関数の性質を調べた。また、ラフ集合のベクトル空間への応用について議論した。
