项目摘要

本年度の研究計画では、(1)金光教の組織構造の把握、(2)教派神道体制での教義表明の問題、(3)戦後における初期新宗教の課題という点を主な研究内容に掲げていた。約4ヶ月の研究期間であったがいずれにもアプローチした。(1)については、2015年6月「宗教と社会」学会にて「金光教の制度化過程における組織の結合原理」と題する報告を行い、金光教の組織構造を組織結合という観点から明らかにした。宗教組織の問題について個別事例に即した実証的研究により精緻化が必要であることを改めて問うた点、戦前期における宗教行政と宗教運動の応答関係、すなわち組織形成における法制度の重要性を指摘できた点で先行研究にインパクトを有すると考える。(2)については、今年度末刊行予定の論文集に「教派神道体制における金光教の組織形成（仮）」という論文を発表する。金光教の教派神道体制への編入は、主に「国家神道への従属のみち」という視角から論じられてきた。そこで、金光教の主体的な意思決定能力とそれに基づく組織形成という観点から、教派神道体制やそれに関連する宗教政策がどのように作用していったのかを検証することで、救済を提供する組織基盤がどのような社会環境の中で形成されたのかを明らかにした。(3)については、2015年11月に「金光教の制度化過程における布教論の展開（仮）」という論文を発表する。金光教の救済原理である「取次」は、新宗教の生命線である布教を「座して待つ」スタイルとして規定してきた。しかし、高度経済成長による社会変化や運動の制度化等を背景に、「布教する教団」への転換が図られていた。戦後の社会変化の中で、幕末維新期に生じた初期新宗教はどのような課題に直面しつつ、民衆に救済財を提供してきているのかという同論文で扱う問題は、日本における近現代の宗教運動の展開を考える上で重要な意味を含んでいると思料される。
