项目摘要

The icon in the iconology means a visible image to the invisible idea. The concept of iconology in this meaning can be adapted also to the architecture. Inquiring into the relation between the old literature and the architectural works and finding there spiritual meaning is the aim of the architectural iconology. In this research the documents of "De Coelesti Hierarchia,De Ecclesiastica Hierarchia" by Dionysius Areopagita are selected as its literal sources.It is known that the documents spread ober the european countries after the translation from Greek into Latin in 858. Therefore the influence of the documents upon the medieval architecture can be seen not only in St.Denis in 1144,but also as possibility till in the second half of the 9.Century. The reports consist of the following chapters:1.Prologue, Aim and method of architectural iconology 2."De Coelesti Hierarchia,De Ecclesiastica Hierarchia" 3.Carolingian Architecture Benedictine monastery church Corvey 4.Romanesque Architecture St.Michael in Hildesheim 5.Gothic Architecture St.Denis 6.Epilogue
