项目摘要

アフリカ地域の精神障害者の社会運動についての調査を目的として、ウガンダ、ルワンダ、ケニア、タンザニアの都市部で6週間のフィールドワークを実施した。2021年度は、新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行により、現地に渡航できなかったため、初めてのフィールドワークとなった。文書資料の収集と、障害者の社会運動組織で活動した経験を持つ12名にインタビューをおこなった。文書資料は、当初期待していたほど収集するできず、口述資料収集の重要性が一層明確になった。他方で、これまでほとんど研究の蓄積のないアフリカの精神障害者の社会運動についての貴重な証言を得ることができた。その結果、これらの地域の運動には、精神障害を持つ当事者としての運動がそれほど重視されていなかったり、薬物療法にアクセスするための活動をしていたりといった、特徴を持つ可能性があることが示唆された。これは、先行研究で検討されてきた欧米の運動とは相反する特徴であり、このような差異がありつつ、どのようにグローバルに連帯してきたのか、してこなかったのかを明らかにしていくことが本研究の重要な課題となる。加えて、2023年度以降のフィールドワークをより充実したものにするための、各地の運動団体に関する情報や人脈を得ることもできた。今年度の調査結果は、これから査読付き論文などとして発表していく準備を進めているところである。その準備として、昨年度の調査結果を中心とした研究成果を学会で報告し、有益なコメントもらうことができた。それを踏まえて、来年度以降、査読付き論文として発表していくための準備を進めている。また、インタビューデータを文字起こしし、インタビュイーの許可が得られた場合には、ウェブサイト上に公開した。
