项目摘要

本研究は、札幌で映画興行を行った九島興行の経営資料（早稲田大学演劇博物館所蔵、以下「九島資料」）の調査・分析を中心に、サイレント期の地方都市における映画館興行と東日本における映画配給構造の形成過程を明らかにする試みである。2022年度は九島資料全体像の把握を進めるとともに、4つの研究を行った。①九島資料のうち最も重要な質と量を誇る書簡資料の読解を進め、特に九島興行の谷井平蔵およびカノーフィルム社の藤岡大亮の書簡を中心に検討した。ただし、これらの書簡は崩し字の手稿資料であるため読解の難易度が高いのみならず量も膨大であるため、本格的な分析は次年度行うこととした。もっとも、大正期の映画上映フィルムの手配や購入をめぐる事例に関する成果の一部は、企画者として携わった早稲田大学演劇博物館演劇映像学連携研究拠点のオンライン上映会とトーク「旧劇映画の声と音」の作品・上映解説において、国内外に広く発信した。②このオンライン上映では、九島興行旧蔵の『雷門大火　血染の纏』を取り上げ、1910年代の日本映画の上映様式の歴史的な資料に基づく「再現」上映を行った。このような「再現」上映は日本では画期的なものであり、実践を通して深められた考察成果は表象文化論学会のニューズレターに寄せた論考で報告した。③サイレント時代の映画配給については特に資料の現存状況が最も良好な東京の事例の分析を並行して行い、特に1920年代半ばの同時封切の増加をめぐる実態解明を試み、成果は表象文化論学会の全国大会で発表した。④サイレント期からトーキー初期に関する映画興行の実態解明を進めるなかで、特に休憩時間の音楽演奏やレコード演奏の変遷の分析を試み、その成果を日本音楽学会とアメリカのAssociation for Asian Studies 2023 Annual Conferenceで発表した。

This study is based on the management data of Kujima Kokyo (held by the Theater Museum of Waseda University, hereinafter referred to as "Kujima Data") of the Sapporo Film Festival. In 2022, the whole image of Jiudao data was grasped and advanced. 1. The most important part of Kudo data is the quality and quantity of the book data. The solution of the book data is advanced. In particular, the book of Kudo Xingxing Tani Hirai is discussed in the center. The difficulty of solving the problem is high, and the analysis of the problem in this case is low. A part of the work related to the case of the film exhibition of the Taisho period, the designer and the producer of the film exhibition of the Waseda University Theatre Museum, the film exhibition of the film "The Sound of the Old Drama", the exhibition explanation, and the domestic and international communication. 2. The release of the film is based on the data of the release history of Japanese film in the 1910s. This is the first time that we have seen such a phenomenon. 3. The current situation of the special data is the best. The analysis of the case of Tokyo is parallel to the practice, especially the increase of the simultaneous closure in the 1920s. The actual situation is explained and the results are presented at the National Congress of the Society for Cultural Representation. The results of the 2023 Annual Conference of the Association for Asian Studies of Japan Music Society were presented at the 2023 Annual Conference of the Association for Asian Studies.
