今年度は昨年度に続き、小堀遠州とその周辺の人々が関わる茶会記・名物記(道具帳)・書状、茶の湯の伝書・聞書、歌集・紀行文等の文学作品で、既に翻刻が存在するものから、①遠州が詠んだ和歌・連歌・狂歌・俳諧、②遠州の周辺で掛物・書院飾として使用された文学作品、及び茶の湯の聞書・伝書で引用された歌論・詠作の情報を抽出・整理した。また、柿衞文庫蔵『小堀遠州師十七回忌百韻』・綿屋文庫蔵『小堀遠州発句集』等、翻刻・影印が未紹介のものを中心に、資料の原本の書誌調査・撮影・翻刻に着手した。得られた主な成果・今後の課題として、遠州(正一・宗甫)には同名別人の連歌作者が近い時代に存在したことが確認され、遠州の連歌を収集・紹介する際にはその人物の作品との区別が必要となる。そして、遠州の連歌として最も注目していた資料で、現在のところ孤本である『小堀遠州師十七回忌百韻』は、先述の同名別人の存在や原本の筆跡等から、遠州自筆とされている従来の認識に疑問が生じた。今年度の調査を基に、今後他の遠州の遺墨との比較検討を行う予定である。さらに、茶道具としては古田織部が取りあげて以降名物に位置付けられたと思しい、歌人の東常縁の詠作や手跡の使用は、織部の弟子である遠州も踏襲していた。そして、遠州と同時代の茶人達にも使用が広がりつつあったことが書状等から確認され、また値段の高騰も仮名草子等から窺える。このような織部から遠州に継承された常縁の遺墨の使用は、常縁が織部・遠州と同じ武家であった点に一因があることを考察した。
