Developing multimedia system for comparing various different editions of Japanese classical books.

研究了如何在计算机上利用研究注解找出不同版本之间的对应位置：这是日本文学研究中的一项基础性研究活动。我们用CGI开发了原型系统，它具有在显示器上显示不同版本的多幅图像、显示图文对应页面、对文本进行字符串搜索以及显示字符串所在的文本同一页面的功能。我们将三个版本的冈上源司的图像数字化，日本研究人员在这些书籍中加入注释，以评估原型系统。然后，一些日本研究人员对其进行了测试。我们发现，根据用户的兴趣和思维，注释可以作为文本而不是整个转录文本来搜索图像和文本之间的对应点。它可以比较各种不同的版本，而无需等待在该系统上完成转录文本。此外，我们还开发了一些专门针对古日语的文本处理程序，以构建该系统。最后，我们在国际会议上报告了这一研究结果。

We studied how to figure out the corresponding place between different editions by using research annotations in supporting to comparing editions on computer : it is basical research activity in Japanese literature study.We developed the prototype system in CGI, it has functions : display several images of different editions on monitor, display corresponding page between image and text, string search on text and display the same page as text that string exists. We digitized image of three editions of GENJI OKAGAMI, and Japanese researchers put annotations into these' books for evaluation of the prototype system. Then, some Japanese researchers tested it.We found out the annotation can be used as text instead of whole transcribed text to search corresponding point between image and text, according to user's interest and thinking.According to this way. it becomes available to compare various different editions without waiting to complete transcribed text on this system. Additionally, we developed some text processing programs specialize in old Japanese for building into this system.Finally, we reported this research result at the international conference.
