まず今年度については、研究期間が4カ月未満と非常に短い期間であった。その短期間の中でも、税関に提出された全ての輸出申告書・輸入申告書を電子データ化したデータベースの分析を開始した。(このデータベースで把握されていない貿易取引は、極めて少額の個人販売・購入か、密輸輸入となる。)財務省への利用申請が認められたデータは、2014年から2020年の7年間分となっている。また、データには企業の私的情報が含まれているために、データ分析した結果については個々の企業が特定化されないための幾つもの条件が課されている。また、これらの条件を満たしているかを審査した後に限り、また審査対象となった分析結果に限り、公表が出来る。この条件は、科研費助成事業の実施状況報告書であっても同様であるために、今年度の分析結果に関しては未審査のため、詳細に記載は出来ない。しかし、以下に弊害の無い限りで研究実績の概要について記述する。データ規模は7年間の輸出入で200ギガを超えるビッグデータである。これらのデータには、輸出入申告書に記載されているデータが全て含まれているために、本研究の目的には不必要なデータも多く含まれている。具体例としてあげると、申告企業の郵便番号や電話番号等である。最初のデータ処理は、研究分析に必要なデータのみに絞り込む作業となった。次に、必要なデータ処理は、データサイズがあまりにも大きいため、データは半年ごとに一つのファイルとしてまとめられている。そのため、7年間のデータとして用いる場合には、各半年において必要なデータのみに絞り込んだ後に、14つのファイルの統合が必要となった。その後、輸出データと輸入データが別々のファイルのために、さらにそれらの統合を行った。これらのデータベースを用いて、3月31日時点で輸出入企業×相手国×年単位のデータベースを用いた建値通貨に関する回帰分析に成功している。
