项目摘要

研究初年度となる本年度は、まず、1960年代から70年代までの学校体育実践を対象とした先行研究を改めて検討した。この結果、対象時期の学校体育実践に関する全体的傾向を把握することを課題の一つとして設定した。この課題については、これまで学校体育に関する定期刊行物を主たる資料として部分的に取り組まれていたため、本研究では『体育学研究』（日本体育学会）を手掛かりとして、現場の体育教員がどのような研究を志向していたのかを明らかにすることとした。1960年代に『体育学研究』に掲載された5,751件の研究を対象として分析した結果、小・中・高の現職体育教員が筆頭筆者として従事した研究は497件あり（参与した研究数は790件）、この内で実践研究（部活動を含む学校体育の指導法等に関する研究）が127件（25.6％）であった。この実践研究における研究目的の記述を分析した結果、主たる傾向の一つとして、練習を通じた技能を指導や学習の効果で検討する目的が立てられていると読み取れた。続いて、実践研究の研究内容（運動種目）として球技が最も多かったこと（42件：33％）を確認し、これらの球技研究の研究成果では、競技スポーツ指導と学校体育指導の往還的解決が、教員主導の学習改善と授業マネジメントの改善によって模索されていたことが示唆された。総じて、1960年代の体育教員は、実践研究を通じて日々の授業等で顕在する課題の解決を試みていたと把握することができた。次に、上記の課題に取り組む一方で、1960年代から70年代までの学校体育を支えた体力づくり論、運動文化論、プレイ論に関する史料を収集するための予備調査を実施した。国内の国公立図書館のデータベースを中心に渉猟するとともに、NPO法人が運営する「体育とスポーツの図書館」において実地調査を行ない、研究対象時期に関する聞き取りを実施した。
