研究実施計画に基づいて家計調査史料の整理と読解を進め、分析に必要となるデータベースの構築に注力した。まず、実施計画に記した5つの史料のうち4つについては、公文書館および図書館への調査を通じて収集を終えることができた。次に、これら大規模なデータを集約するために、計画通り史料整理とデータ入力を担当するアシスタントを雇用し、効率的な作業につとめた。その結果、東京市の調査史料の一部については、データベースの構築をほぼ終えることができた。さらに、これまで分析を続けてきた東京市の乳児死亡に関する研究については、当初の一般化積率法による推定から、内生変数を含む分位点回帰(Quantile Regression)モデルを用いた推定に切り替えたところ、方面委員による活動の効果が分位点によって異なるという結果が観測された。具体的には、乳児死亡率の高い地域では、それが低い地域に比して方面委員による活動の効果が大きいという、史料分析に基づく予測と整合的な解析結果を得ることができた。そこで、これら結果を国内のワークショップやセミナーで報告するとともに、査読付国際学術誌(Cliometrica誌)に投稿し、掲載決定の判定を受けた。以上、次年度の統計解析に用いるデータセットの構築がほぼ予定通りに進んだこと、および当初予定していた査読付国際誌への掲載が決定したことから、初年度の研究は順調に進行したと考えられる。
