项目摘要

本年度は、研究目的として設定した1点目の研究課題である「BMIの技術開発の上流、特に医療現場において、被験者や患者、専門家というアクターも関与する形でのBMIのアップストリーム・エンゲージメントの構築と包括的研究」の一部を遂行した。近年の医療応用BMI研究においては、ALS患者(筋萎縮性側索硬化症)や筋ジストロフィー患者など四肢の自由がきかなくなる難病の方々の外部への意思表示やコミュニケーション手法、またコンピュータなどの外部機器の操作を可能なものとすることで、生活の質(Quality of Life : QOL)の向上をもたらす技術が開発されている。現段階において被験者や患者の希望や意見を技術開発に取り組むことで、より現状に即した意義のある技術が研究・開発され社会に普及していくことが求められている。上記の背景はあるものの、BMIを対象とした被験者・患者参画を考える場合、これまでの他の科学技術や医学への被験者・患者参画に関連する研究の蓄積の活用、またそれらと本研究の差別化を図る必要がある。そのため、本年度は主に、国内外の被験者・患者参画研究について先行研究レビューを行った。特に、科学技術社会論分野の市民参加研究、医療社会学、被験者研究という主要な3領域について全体像を把握することで、BMIを対象とした被験者・患者参画をどのような形で進めるべきかの見取り図を作成中である。また、上記と並行して、BMIの倫理的・社会的問題についての総説論文などを出版した。

This year, we conducted a part of the research project titled "BMI technology development and research on BMI development, especially in the medical field, patients, families and families." In recent years, BMI research for medical use has focused on the development of techniques for ALS patients (ALS) and patients with ALS (Atrophic Lateral Sclerosis), as well as the development of techniques for the treatment of ALS patients, including the treatment of limbs, the treatment of external diseases, and the operation of external machines. At the present stage, the hope of the patient and the opinion of the technology development are selected from the group, the status quo and the significance of the technology research and development are popularized in the society. The background of this paper is that BMI is related to the study of patients, and it is necessary to study the accumulation and utilization of other scientific and medical technologies. This year, the main research, domestic and foreign patients and patients participate in the study. In particular, science and technology sociology, citizen participation research, medical sociology, and patient research are three major areas in which the overall image is grasped, BMI is reflected, and patient participation is developed. In addition, BMI's ethical and social issues are discussed in detail.
