项目摘要

本研究は，スタートアップ企業における人的資本と企業成長の関係を，次の３つの視点から検証した。１．ストックオプション付与と人的資本（役員）の確保とその後の企業成長（新規株式公開（IPO））の関係，２．人的資本とベンチャーキャピタル（VC）からの資金調達とその後の企業成長（IPO後のパフォーマンス）の関係，３．人的資本とアンダーライターの選択問題，である。人材は企業成長に欠かすことのできない資本であるにもかかわらず，一般にスタートアップ企業は人材を引き付ける知名度も潤沢な資金もないため，人材を確保することが困難である。そのため，スタートアップ企業にとって，いかに優秀な人材を確保するか，またそれらの人材にどのようなことが期待できるのかを明らかにすることは重要な課題になっている。ストックオプションは，優秀な人材を確保するためのインセンティブになると言われているが，ストックオプションに関するほとんどの研究は，成熟した大企業を対象にしており，スタートアップ企業におけるストックオプションの効果は検証されてこなかった。また，VCからの資金調達とアンダーライターの選択に関しても，それらにおいて人的資本がどのような役割を果たすのかに注目した研究は少ない。本研究は，IPOに至るまでの未公開時の役員に関する詳細なデータに基づき，上記の課題を実証的に検証した。当該年度に実施した研究の結果については，国際学会で2度の報告を行った。また，研究成果を論文にまとめ海外ジャーナルに投稿した。
