日常生活においてネガティブな出来事を意図的に覚える状況は稀であると考えられるため，そこで意図的に覚えてようとしていないネガティブな記憶を抑制することが出来るかどうかを，検索練習パラダイムを用いて検討した。単語の関連度評定を行うという形で，学習意図のない状態でネガティブ語を学習させた後（偶発学習），そのネガティブ語に対して一部を検索させるという検索練習を行った。その後，すべての学習項目に対して記憶テストを行った。その結果，意図的に学習していないネガティブ語記憶の抑制が可能であることが明らかになった研究成果をまとめ，学会発表を行った。また，自身の思考を制御する能力をどのように評価しているかを測定する質問紙であるThought Control Ability Questionnaire（TCAQ）を翻訳することで日本語版の作成し，その信頼性・妥当性を検討した。作成したTCAQ日本語版の妥当性に関しては，構造的側面，外的側面，一般化可能性的側面それぞれの証拠を得ることができた。信頼性に関しては高い再検査信頼性を確認した。これらの結果から，TCAQ日本語版を作成することができたと言える。の成果を論文にまとめたものを心理学研究誌に投稿し，掲載が決定された（小林他，印刷中）。この尺度を本邦の研究者が利用することで，思考制御能力の自己評価と思考や記憶の抑制研究が本邦において活性化することを期待している。また，現在は作成した日本語版TCAQの得点と指示忘却の関連についても共同研究として，検討を行っており，その成果の一部を学会発表する予定である。
