项目摘要

社会神経科学における「自他の間に“共通の痛みの回路が存在する」という知見や、ラットやマウスのような群居性の哺乳類の共感現象を報告する研究は、“共感”と呼ばれる複雑な現象群の生理学的・進化的基盤を明らかにするという意味で極めて重要である。しかしこうした情動的回路を中心とする自動的側面を重視したアプローチは、“共感”を思いやりや利他性といった人間特有の高次の認知過程として捉える傾向のある社会科学の着想とは距離があった。そこで、本研究課題では、他者の苦痛への共感について、情動的/自動的なボトムアップの過程である「情動共有」を出発点とし、認知的/制御的なトップダウンの過程である「心的状態の推論」との交絡関係を明らかにすることで、社会科学が主眼を置く、個人の福利を超えた意思決定と情動共感の関わりを探ることを目指している。以下に、本年度の研究遂行結果を述べる。情動共有に深く関わる現象である「表情模倣」が相手の心的状態の推論を求められると促進されるという内容の研究論文を国際学術誌PLoS ONEに投稿し、公刊された。この研究はThe 2nd International Workshop on Cognitive Neuroscience Roboticsでも発表された。また、他者の苦痛への共感について、ボトムアップの過程である「情動共有」とトップダウンの過程である「視点取得」との関係性を検討した研究をまとめた総説「ヒト社会における大規模協力の礎としての共感性の役割」を心理学評論に投稿し、公刊された。加えて、日本人間行動進化学会第８回大会および日本認知科学会第32回大会に於いて、二者の相互作用場面における苦痛に対する情動共有現象を示した実験研究の成果を発表し高い評価を得て、若手奨励賞（日本人間行動進化学会ポスター発表部門）を受賞した。
