项目摘要

山梨県富士山において、対象生物キビタキの生態調査を行い、キビタキの渡来時期に対する過去の経験の影響を検討した。ここで得られたデータを解析し、キビタキの行動生態学的観点からの研究をまとめた。主たる成果として、渡り鳥は前年の繁殖地の気候や天敵といった状況を記憶しており、前年の経験に基づいて適切な渡来時期に渡来できるよう時期を調整していることを示した。特に雄は渡来の時期を遅らせ、雌の渡来の直前に調節することによって、繁殖成績は保ったまま死亡率を低下させていた。一方雌は、前年の気候に合わせて渡来時期を調整することで、死亡率を低下させており、渡来後の気候に応じて繁殖時期を決めていた。これらの結果、過去の経験の蓄積によって個体の繁殖成功と生存率が高まるため、過去の経験に基づいて個体が行動を調整することは適応的であることを解明した。こうした成果は、The multiple messages on mature and immature plumages of Narcissus Flycatcher for the multiple receivers、The different arrival strategy of matured and immature Narcissus Flycatcher Ficedula narcissinaと題した発表として報告している。このほか、関連論文を投稿中である。
