项目摘要

まずミナミコメツキガニが群れとして忌避領域へ創発的に侵入する実験を行った。「研究の目的」にそって群れ形成力を明らかにしようとする実験である。近年群れ研究では少しずつ群れの運動解析が行われつつあるが、実験的に群れ形成に関する相互作用を探る研究はまだまだ少ない。そこで我々が従来から扱っているミナミコメツキガニにおいて、小さな群れがみせる水に対する忌避行動と、大きく密集した群れがあえて忌避領域である水の中へ侵入する行動を実験的に示したものである。この創発現象は一般的な群れモデルでは説明が困難である一方、我々が従来から提案している個体が互いに運動を予期し合う群れモデルによって簡単に再現できる。本研究は論文としてまとめられた。また群れの探索に関する研究を行った。多くの群れに関する論文において、群れが作られる理由に群れとしての探索が挙げられるが、具体的な研究はほとんどされていない。本研究ではこの問題に挑むためまず新たなランダムウォークのモデルを提案した。また、ミナミコメツキガニの実験装置内における挙動を解析し、群れ全体としての探索行動パターンを見いだした。本研究は国際会議プロシーディングとしてまとめられた。さらに現在典型的な群れ行動をとるアユの稚魚を用いた運動解析を行っている。現在群れの運動解析はムクドリの群れなどを中心に行われているが、制御された環境下で行われたものは少ない。我々はアユの群れを、匹数を変えながらタンクの中で泳がせ、その様子をビデオカメラで撮影した後、解析ソフトを利用して個体識別された座標データを得た。そのデータから従来重要とされてきた群れの内部構造が複数確認された。特に、個体間での接近時間において冪則が確認されたが、これは群れの形状に依らず現れ、群れ形成・維持に極めて重要な意味をもたらすと考えられる。
