项目摘要

本研究は、人間の判断や思考の意識的体験における、身体反応としての視線の役割と、それについて進化的な背景による男女差が存在するかを検討することを目的とした。今年度は昨年度達成した内容に基づき、対連合学習課題における視線分析を行った。Shimojo, Simion, Shimojo, & Scheier (2003)は、選好判断時に判断の約600ms前から選択刺激に視線が偏っていくという現象（視線カスケード現象）を報告した。これは判断の意識的な体験と視線の動きの重要な関係性を示す知見であった。この視線カスケードに関して、対連合学習課題で、参加者が正解対を顕在的に記憶した場合（顕在呈示条件）と潜在的に記憶した場合（潜在呈示条件）で視線カスケードを比較した。その結果、潜在呈示条件の方が、視線カスケードが長くなる可能性が示された。このことは、意思決定場面において視線の動きが判断の手掛かりとして機能しているという可能性を支持する結果であった。また、参加者の主観的な課題のとらえ方が違うことによる影響を排除するために、参加者の主観としては潜在呈示条件と全く同じで、参加者が正解対の情報を全く持っていない条件（無呈示条件）を追加して再度実験を行った。その結果、潜在呈示条件の方が無呈示条件より大きな視線カスケードになる可能性が示された。このことは参加者が持つ無意識的な情報が視線の動きに反映されることを示す知見であった。また、顕在呈示条件と潜在呈示条件において視線カスケードの長さに男女差が生じる可能性について検討したところ、男性の方が短時間の視線カスケードを示すことが示された。このことは意識的な判断が生じる場面において身体反応が持つ役割に男女間で違いが存在する可能性を示しており、本研究の最終的な目標である、誤帰属問題における進化的素因の存在を示唆する重要な知見であると言える。
