项目摘要

本研究は、日本固有草本であるイワカガミ属(イワウメ科)が環境適応によって種分化した過程を明らかにすることを目的としている。イワカガミ属は、種ごとに地域的な「すみわけ」をしていることが特徴である。イワカガミ属と同様に、「日本海側」と「太平洋側」で種や亜種がすみ分けている植物群は多く知られているので、イワカガミ属の環境適応による種分化過程を明らかにすることは、日本の植物の多様性が生まれた過程を考察することにつながるので、とても有意義である。本年度の成果は、次の4つにまとめられる。1. イワウメ科の系統解析を行うことで、イワカガミ属が単系統群であることを示した。イワカガミ属の単系統性を示すことは、本研究の前提であるため、重要であった。本内容は、前年度から実施してきた研究であり、研究成果をPlant Systematics and Evolution誌に掲載した。2. 屋久島産イワカガミ属植物であるヒメコイワカガミについて分類学的再検討を行い、ヒメコイワカガミは、イワカガミの変種Schizocodon soldanelloides var. minimusとすることを提案した。本内容は、前年度から実施してきた研究であり、研究成果をActa Phytotaxonomica et Geobotanica誌に掲載した。3. イワカガミ属の集団動態を推定するため、進化モデルを適用した。その結果、イワカガミ属の種分化時には遺伝子流動がないことが示され、種分化は更新世中期ごろであると推定された。4. 景観遺伝学的手法により、イワカガミ属の遺伝的距離と気候的距離に有意な相関があることを示した。このことは、イワカガミ属の各種の真正性の維持に気候環境の違いが寄与していることを示している。(前項・本項の成果を合わせ、学術雑誌に投稿)
