本年度は、単著の出版準備を最大の目標に掲げ、博士論文の加筆・修正に取り組んだ。具体的に、出版社と交渉を進めるとともに、日本学術振興会研究成果公開促進費（学術図書）に応募した。本書は、これまでの研究活動の集大成となるものであり、対中国借款への歴史的分析を通して、近代東アジアの経済的国際協調体制、近代日本の対外政策決定過程を解明した研究である。日本近代史のみならず、日本経済史・経営史、中国近現代史、イギリス帝国史、国際関係論・国際政治学など幅広い学問分野と対話可能な成果となると考えている。同時に、論旨の明確化・研究交流などを目的に、いくつかの学会や研究会で研究成果を報告する機会を得た。日中関係史、中国近現代史、経済史・経営史などを中心に、本研究の隣接分野の研究者から、非常に有益な助言を得ることができた。また、国内・国際を問わず、研究成果を積極的に発信するとともに、研究の国際交流にも取り組んだ。同時に、研究活動の基軸である歴史資料の収集・読解にも務めた。第一次世界大戦期の日本の対中国借款について、『日本外交文書』から読み取れる外交交渉の様子にとどまらず、日本国内の政策形成過程に関しても、知見を深めることができた。一方で、海外に所蔵されている歴史資料の調査も積極的に行った。海外での調査の成果によって、日本の対中国借款の制約要因として機能していた英米両国の政府・資本家の動向や背景の分析につながるものと思われる。最後に、研究成果について説明する。本年度は、研究論文の学術雑誌への掲載とともに、最新の学術研究を平易に解説し、一般向けに分かりやすく説明した編著を刊行した。
