英文摘要
EasiBridge is a lightweight bridging system offering man-portable spans up to 18m, with weights less than 6kg/m of span. A significant expansion of current systems is proposed, extending EasiBridge bridging capabilities from personnel to heavy vehicles, up to 12 Tonne capacity.A transformative gap-crossing solution is proposed for both wet (river) or dry gaps, of any depth, up to 18m span. Lightweight, alloy/composite bridges formed from a simple kit of modular, 1-piece, user-portable, tubular components -- ideal for disaster-recovery and emergency access.Space-frames offer multi-functions, including:a) rapid-access bridges for military access and civil disaster-recoveryb) plant-free/covert installation ahead of 1st vehicle-arrivalc) semi-permanent bridges for disaster-relief and evacuationd) building frameworks -- temporary shelterse) temporary access platforms (scaffolding) expandable with numerous profile combinations. This project will drive further, game-changing, innovation in all new vehicle-bridging variants. User-portable systems that do not require plant or power to operate, or install. Space-frames enhanced by lightweight link-tensioning -- common with EasiBridge "LADX" personnel-bridges.Space-frame components 20-times more compact than incumbent Bailey Bridges. New demountable joints introduced at all node intersections will allow entire vehicle bridges to be assembled and installed via dismounted manpower - no tools, vehicle-launchers, mechanical power or hydraulic take-offs required to function or deploy. Game-changing portability and functionality for Military access and Civilian Rescue Operations.Space-frame bridges cater for almost all wheeled and tracked vehicle combinations. Lightweight, compact, modular trackways, assembled by solo operatives. All components transported INSIDE 1.5m (15kg) deck-planks.This project will develop new designs to 1st full-scale prototypes. New R&D effort will focus on analytical design to confirm member sizing and end connection details. Destructive-testing of sub-assembly prototypes will prove viability of demountable build details.Solutions developed in this project will be transferable to numerous wider applications. The innovative combination of space-frame technology with EasiBridge launcher platforms provides revolutionary new capabilities for rapid access and disaster-recovery. A variety of bridges, building frameworks, or access platforms can also be constructed. This project will be delivered for £375,000, with 55% applicant contribution. Further commercial investment will be provided by BANAIR towards in-house tooling, market-feasibility and ultimate sales-exploitation if this project proves technical viability. This project will establish technical feasibility of ambitious new demountable bridging concepts for a huge range of military and Civilian rescue applications. An Innovate UK grant would accelerate commercialisation of an innovative range of military and civilian access systems. 50 full-time jobs could be created/secured.
