The UK is at the forefront of 5G innovation, and 5G will bring massive economic benefits to the global economy. In particular the ability to deploy dedicated Private 5G for industrial and smart city use cases will yield economic and societal benefits.However with new technology comes new security vulnerabilities, and the 5G networks will be an attractive target for malicious actors including unfriendly nation states. Governments around the world wish to identify and mitigate the potential cyber-security threats to 5G.In this project Ampliphae and Arqit take the first steps towards developing a secure deployment environment for Private 5G, allowing operators of sensitive or critical infrastructure to share in the benefits of 5G without being exposed to unacceptable risk.
