If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in hospital you may find yourself in there for an extended period of time. This can leave you susceptible to pressure ulcers which are known as bed sores. We are letting you down at this point in time with our current documentation system which means we act slower or even miss your bed sores. This leads to you having to spend longer in hospital or developing further conditions. The documentation in Wales is done on paper, so we would digitise this and allow for nurses to put pictures of your ulcers into your cybersecure notes. This will allow them to track it and hopefully intervene faster if they aren't happy with its progress. We would also link your name and hospital number to the picture so that if you're moved to a different hospital, ward or into a care home that picture stays with you so your new carers can see. Finally we want to make it easier for nurses to document the bed sores. We are going to do this by introducing explanations and example pictures. This decreases the risk of mistakes or Miss documentation and leads to better outcomes for the patients. The poor documentation of bed sores is a problem that has been met with chronic over complication and here at IGNAZ Technology we have listened to nurses to ask them what they would like and use. We have created a simple, realistic and safe innovation idea which will solve the problem of the documentation of bed sores.
