英文摘要
FLY Mama's project is to launch a unique employee benefit program which supports women through their pregnancy and postpartum journey including support should they experience perinatal trauma and loss support.Fewer than 1 in 5 of all new mothers, and 29% of first-time mothers, return to full time work in the first 3 years after maternity leave. This falls to 15% after 5 years. 17% of women leave employment completely in the five years following childbirth, compared to four percent of men.Our employee benefit program will support women mentally, physically and emotionally whilst at work during their pregnancy, at home on MAT leave, whilst they prepare to return to work and supporting them throughout their motherhood journey once back at work.1 in 3 women experience birth trauma, 1 in 4 pregnancies will end in loss and every year around 2,500 babies are born stillborn.Should an employee experience perinatal trauma and/or loss, our program enables companies to support their staff whilst on bereavement leave not only helping them to start their healing and grieving process but also in the preparation to return to work.Once they have returned to work. we continue to support them and should they go on to want to and are able to, try to conceive again, we also offer support during pregnancy following loss and trauma.Women deserve and need this support and we want to provide this for them. Not only will companies feel supported in the care that provide for their staff, but employee retention, wellbeing and quality of life will be enhanced.
