It is estimated that 1 in 8 women in the UK experience fertility problems. Of these, many seek fertility treatments, such as IVF, to improve their chance of conceiving. However, the average success rate of IVF in the UK is 32% in women under 35, declining to 25% for women aged 35-37, 19% for women aged 38-39 and below 5% for women over the age of 43\.This decreasing trend in fertility with age is growing more apparent as an increasing number of women choose to start a family later in life.Furthermore, as the percentage of the population with overweight or obesity is rising, we can expect the number of women with PCOS and obesity-related fertility issues to also rise.Considering the monumental physical and emotional impact of infertility on women and couples, it is essential we that seek to discover a more effective and broader range of methods of improving female fertility. We propose to develop an innovation that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help make adjustments to lifestyle factors to increase success of IVF and improve fertility.
