The UK is embarking on the largest property retrofit scheme in history. To successfully deliver it will require over 1m newly skilled and qualified people. To avoid issues of the past where inappropriately skilled individuals cost the UK economy millions in rework and consumers misery, it is necessary to provide assurance that those contracted to undertake the work are suitably qualified through an easy to access, secure and auditable system.Our innovative solution provides assurance to employers, householders, and other property owners that the individual or business that they are employing, or contracting with holds the requisite qualifications to undertake the specified work. There is no secure digital equivalent solution to what we are proposing. The solution provides an individual with a unique secure 'qualifications passport' held on their smartphone to verify who they are and what they are qualified to do.Our innovative solution uses digital certificate technology. We can provide a secure system to verify the qualifications of an individual and create a digital audit trail of the projects that they undertake including aspects of retrofitting. This will determine performed competence, identify additional training needs, and validate product warranties and insurances.A mechanism to assess performance of tradespeople over time by being able to see who has worked on which projects or properties is essential for root cause analysis and continuous improvement and development. The ability for a property landlord or private homeowner to stipulate the minimum qualifications required to undertake a project (given that within social housing the value of the projects are multi-million) within the contract -- and have the ability to independently verify compliance.Trustmark is the only Government endorsed scheme for companies and tradespeople but this has problems. Our digital certificate would significantly enhance the Trustmark scheme.The size of opportunity in financial terms is significant:1.
