Dr. Fatemeh Ameri is the current CEO of Precious MD, a medical technology firm specialising in providing non-invasive, AI powered solutions for detection of gene mutations in lung cancer.She has backgrounds in Computer engineering, Electronic commerce and Marketing. She received her PhD in Business and Management from University of Manchester in 2015 and became a lecturer (assistant professor) in Marketing at Manchester Business School right after. Her university research were primarily focused on business models of online health service providers, Online health information and Commercialization of biomedical technologies.Having accumulated the necessary knowledge in academia for nearly 4 years as a lecturer and researcher, she embarked on a journey to pursue her aspirations in entrepreneurship.Whilst keeping her contacts with the University of Manchester, she moved to Cambridge to expand her network and foster mutual relationships with new innovators, start-ups, medical practitioners and investors. To craft a viable business opportunity, she learned and understood the state-of -the-art rends in AI and medicine through consulting the literature and communication with key opinion leaders of both fields.She then founded PreciousMD in 2019, an AI driven medical image analytic firm. Her current goal at Precious MD is to develop a robust and accurate method for detection of certain gene mutations (epidermic growth factor receptor or EGFR) in lung cancer utilising solely AI and patients' CT (Computed Tomography) images.
