英文摘要
Active Care Homes through the Arts (working title) aims to increase the activity levels of care home residents through engaging digital arts content, and training and support for care staff.Activity levels for residents in care homes are typically low and much of the day can be spent entirely sedentary. We want to turn the place of TV on its head, into a positive tool to increase activity and engagement through high quality arts content, events and performances tailored for care home residents.Active Care Homes is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team spanning arts, digital inclusion, and health & wellbeing. Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and partners, Wellmoor, Villages in Action, Open University Digital Health Labs and dance specialist, Clare Parker, draw on decades of experience delivering interactive and participatory dance and music in care homes (in person and digitally).Since Mar 2022 we have been undertaking a feasibility study to test digital movement and music content, resources and staff training, trial impact measurement scales and develop our business plan. This project will take the learning from our feasibility study and scale up the research and development of our digital movement and music content with a wider group of care homes. It will test content cycles, accessibility and engagement patterns underpinned by an impact framework integrating digital impact tools.Active Care Homes through the Arts will give care home staff and residents engaging movement activities which draw on evidence-based core strength & balance exercises, and the confidence to deliver this with their residents. It will develop engaging, social music and arts content and create a scalable solution which will support care homes to be more active and healthy places.
