The British theatre sector is experiencing a moment of great emergency. COVID and the cost of living crisis have decimated traditional theatre-going audiences, leaving venues across the country financially exposed and adrift from their communities. Yet, British theatre is globally recognised for its quality. Creative innovation and artistic risk lie at the heart of our work, so it is essential we find new ways of building new, younger, and more diverse audiences; we need to create communities with a long-term commitment to and appetite for the most exciting, cutting-edge work a theatre can produce.Rose Theatre Enterprises has partnered with AmpTheatre, an audience and brand development consultancy, to help us understand and mobilise our audience data. We want to apply technologies and ways of working that power growth in other parts of the economy to the theatre sector. Our shared goal: revolutionise how we communicate with and engage audiences.The _Digital Transformation for UK Theatres_ project will develop fit-for-the-future digital communications strategies, data and insights, and best practices that enable artistic and business leaders to deliver on creative visions and achieve commercial strength. Our tools and resources will be made available through a combination of free educational and fee-based services.
