AI has the potential to transform our understanding of the world and help resolve many persistent human and environmental concerns. This transformative potential has stimulated the creation of a plethora of guidelines, draft regulations and laws of yet to be established effectiveness and impact. Draft legislations threaten significant financial penalties for organisations seen to be misclassifying or misusing AI. Compliance and assurance concerns appears to be delaying the adoption of AI, and thus delaying the potential benefits.GRAIL (Guide to Regulation & AI Laws) involves the development of a natural language processing system that aims to assist users in determining which artificial intelligence (AI) laws apply to their proposed project.
