Good access to broadband internet, anytime and anywhere, has become an essential part of our daily lives. It is also a powerful tool to tackle social inequality, eliminate poverty, grow the economy and improve universal living standards. Unfortunately, over 50% of the current world population has either unreliable internet connection, or no access to the internet at all. The majority of these people live in the developing world, where the need to remain connected to the rest of the world is becoming more apparent. The work required to install fibre or copper cable networks is significant, and with scarce funding, many are unlikely to gain reliable internet access through this method quickly.We are developing a wireless solution from the 5G and 6G terrestrial telecom network, as well as the LEO and MEO satellite-based satcom network, to address these issues. This multi-agent system, combing both the telecom and satcom network provides more capability and higher potential, at a considerably more affordable cost.With support from the European Space Agency (ESA), our business has created an innovative, market-first and patent-pending antenna technology that can track LEO and MEO satellites to provide broadband internet services (www.Satraka.com). Satraka antennas offer substantial and competitive advantages in both technical performance and cost over products either on the market today or currently under development.In this project, we are further advancing Satraka technology into a new sphere of application, by developing a high-performance and low-cost multi-beam antennas (HLMA) technology to provide high data-rate connection (such as in fixed wireless access points - FWA) in the telecom and/or satcom networks.HLMA can be used solo, or in conjunction with Satraka antennas in a multi-agent system for fast deployment of broadband internet services. One example would be to use Satraka antennas linked to LEO/MEO satellites in satcom, then HLMA to multiple user equipment (UEs) on the ground in telecom, for a remote community in a rural area, or in disaster-relief missions.HLMA can also be used for tracking LEO/MEO satellites, or connecting to multiple satellites simultaneously. This project is to produce HLMA breadboards, then to test and verify the technology, explore the market, build customer and supplier bases and to develop a solid business proposition.
