**Peatlands are among the most secure sinks for greenhouse gases,** storing 25% of global soil carbon, yet their degradation is responsible for 2-5% of all anthropogenic emissions\[1\]. Understanding the large potential for both storage and emissions, there has been an exponential increase in restoration projects aimed at reducing emissions and enhancing carbon storage in peatlands. However, there is currently no accurate and scalable method for measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) of peatland restoration projects.**The lack of accurate and scalable MRV leads to uncertainties in carbon accounting and disparities in understanding peatland presence, both of which hinder deployment of peatland GRR projects.****There is a strong need for broader peat evaluation.** To date, much of the focus on peatland carbon accounting has been on blanket and raised bogs, while more recently fenlands have been added to the Peatland Code\[3\]. In the UK these fenland sites have a long history of anthropogenic modification and degradation, especially deep drainage for agriculture leading to them having the highest green-house gas (GHG) emission factors per ha of any peatland type\[4\]. Developing an MRV solution for these areas would enhance their "visibility" and provide an economic basis for restoration of these highly modified sites.**Digital mapping and monitoring of peatlands based on EO data has the potential to scale to meet the global need for accurate MRV and mapping of GGR projects.** Sylvera will conquer the limitations of peatland MRV by combining their expertise in ML, EO data and advanced field data collection, with the research of the UKCEH - leaders in peatland GGR demonstration. Sylvera will lead the next-generation of digital peatland measurements to provide the scalable MRV solution that is desperately needed to bring integrity and confidence to GGR projects.**Peat-MOSS advances peatland MRV by combining remote sensing and data from UKCEH's GGR sites within Sylvera's industry-leading ML and globally trusted ratings product**. Sylvera will leverage the technical development in Peat-MOSS to create an MRV solution for peatland GGR projects akin to our existing ratings product for forest GGR projects. This MRV solution will ensure the effectiveness, security, and permanence of GGR projects by providing consistent and scalable monitoring of peatlands. **Peat-MOSS fosters integrity and confidence in peatland GGR projects by moving beyond the current industry standard. This will bring credibility to the carbon market and promote the development and uptake of high-quality peatland GGR projects in the UK.**
