This project is helping OrbAstro address a key problem throttling the growth of the nano-satellite (1-10kg), micro-satellite (10-100kg), and small-satellite (100-500kg) sectors. This project will allow the company to develop an elegant solution for the power electronics and thermal management systems required to enable high-powered payloads to operate on satellites of this scale. This is relevant to applications such as space-based Internet, telecommunications, distributed sensors for Earth monitoring/science, and synthetic aperture radar clusters.
