Our vision is of an augmented landscape where visitors to Dorset effectively engage with both the landscapes’ archaeological history and related artefacts housed within the Dorset County Museum (DCM). Personalised engagement and experience provide the conceptual underpinnings for our vision where visitors are able to view a heterogeneous mix of media elements (images, video, sound and games) through mobile devices to direct visitors on a more emotional journey that is personalised to their interests, profile, time and place. This feasibility study will develop software prototypes for gathering, analysis and evaluation activities to program and interact with the augmented landscape. These prototypes will provide a basis for personalised delivery of such media elements and journey recommendations. The project will provide the learning and knowledge necessary to engage content providers and for commercialisation of the platform itself. iSEE will increase visitor numbers to DCM (add. net profit £210k). Further software development will generate revenue through licenses sold to 3rd parties and business models based on advertisement revenue and software brokering.
