PAST - Parallel Alternative Streams of Teaching

PAST is an online learning platform that allows parents to customise the their level of engagement in the teaching process and students to select a teaching style that they connect with. By providing parents with a range of flexible options to guide how their children engage with the lessons, we aim to achieve higher levels of engagement with the lessons than alternative learning resources and we believe that, once validated by this project, the parallel teaching stream method employed could deliver wide-ranging benefits to the education system as a whole, compared with traditional methods.The need for such a platform is now more important than ever in response to the disruption to the education of children caused by the COVID-19 disruptions at a critical time in their development.The additional Extension for Impact funding will enable us to broaden the scope of the content which we are able to include within the platform, allowing us to validate that this new approach to teaching can deliver impact beyond the single subject and age range that we have started the trial with.
