Gas Turbine output increases on average by 0.5% for every 1degC cooling of the combustionair. Therefore, there are serious economic and environmental considerations to be able to coolthe combustion air in a competitive and safe manner.The system envisaged would enable Gas Turbine operators to increase the output in thesummer or in hot countries by up to 10% (25MW per hour for a large GT) in a safe manner,without jeopardising the integrity of the Gas Turbine parts, which is the only reason for whichfog system are not as successful in this market.If the R&D project was deemed as successful, TT(E) could aspire to supply systems thatinclude fog generators and air filtration systems in high volumes to both gas turbinemanufacturers and gas turbine operators.
