The starting point for any orthodontic treatment is the visit to a General Dental Practitioner(GDP), who will refer the patient’s records to a specialist orthodontist for assessment. It isessential that the records contain the most accurate depiction of the patient’s teeth andcommunication between the GDP and orthodontist is quick, secure and reliable. However theapproach to deliver these requirements has shown to have deficiencies in record transmissionand imaging. Oralign proposes to overcome these challenges by using a secure, integratedpatient platform that enables GDPs immediate access to specialist orthodontists, the ability tovirtually upload records instantaneously and the capacity to live video stream orthodonticassessments.
