Our project aim is to develop a mobile 20T (gross weight in tonnes) jaw crusher suitable forproducing graded aggregate from quarry stone and demolition waste with performanceequivalent to a 35T crusher. The proposed crusher will have the following benefits:• Crushing capacity of between 150 and 250T per hour (depending on aggregate size)which is equivalent to an existing 35T machine• Fully integrated pre-screening and post-screening system enabling crushed material tobe fully screened at the end of the process into various products such as dust, 25mm clean or50mm clean• Compact size – fits into a standard shipping container and does not require an escortfor road transport• 25% reduction in fuel consumption when compared to an existing 35T crusher• Fully mobile for positioning in site without the need for other transport and liftinggear• Low cost (up to 50% cheaper when shipping is included) when compared to existing35T crushersTo deliver the benefits the following enabling innovations have been identified:• Crusher box – unique design that provides high strength and rigidity at a lower weightand cost• Pressure boost – our unique manifold system allowing us to run our system with alower power fuel efficient engineGlobal demand for construction aggregates is expected to rise nearly four per cent annuallythrough 2012 to over 26 billion tonnes. This demand will be met by increased productionfrom quarries directly influencing the demand for crusher machinery. The total current globalcrusher sales figure is £997m and the average crusher sale price is £200k. With our proposedinnovations and crusher benefits we predict a 1.5% market penetration within 5 years ofproject completion resulting in a £10m increase in turnover for our company. 80% of themanufacturing costs will be incurred within a UK supply chain and at least 95% of the 20Tcrushers will be exported.
