The aim of the project is to create a prototype batch of LED lightbars (emergency services visual warning) that can be assembled by unskilled labour anywhere in the world. The objective is to provide our 118 distributors with a physical product to test the new concept to ensure it meets global demand.Market research has been undertaken to ensure the project offers consumers exactly what they need from the product to ensure it will be a success in the market.Successful completion of the prototype will provide the industry with: An aerodynamic, low power, high visibility product that can be assembled by a distributor that offers savings in vehicle emissions, wind resistance and increase in health & safety of emergency service personnel. The project will create new employment opportunities within the UK whilst utilising UK based contractors to provide external support for some areas.A new power motherboard control module will provide the product with a multi-voltage input (this will ensure the product can be used on any vehicle worldwide) and will offer RGB colour mix technology to produce any warning colour requirement worldwide with low current consumption. This technology will be powered by a low current duty driver which in turn will lower vehicle emissions and make the product ‘green’ due to its reduced carbon footprint as it can be shipped in small packages worldwide for assembly at its destination. The prototypes require 5 new injection mould tools to create the outer shells (x4) and new internal led cluster optic (x1). They will also require a new aluminium extrusion base tool which will give the product the support it requires for its aerodynamic function.Redtronic require TSB funding to enable the company to achieve worldwide IP protection for the new design, along with additional financial aid to ensure the project reaches the market within the shortest possible timeframe whilst using only UK based subcontractors.
